Hi {{first_name}}, we have an update for order {{order_reference}}.

The task behind the feature

When every update starts from scratch

Starting every update from a blank message slows the team.

Order updates, service follow-ups and customer announcements often need the same structure but different details. Writing each one manually creates inconsistency. WhatsApp also has specific rules for business-initiated messages. Templates give your business a repeatable way to communicate while keeping the customer's name, reference or other relevant information personal.

Preparation is part of the workflow

From a recurring update to a reusable template.

  1. 01

    Prepare the message structure

Create a message that has a clear purpose and useful wording. Add supported components and variables only where they improve the customer's understanding, rather than filling a template with unnecessary personal information.

  2. 02

    Follow the approval workflow

Submit and synchronise templates through the WhatsApp integration. Review Meta's status before planning a campaign or automation around a message; a draft is not the same as an approved template.

  3. 03

Reuse it in the right journey

Choose the template in a campaign or template automation and map the required values. Check example data so a customer receives a readable update rather than an empty placeholder or incorrect reference.

Before the first send.

Review variables and Meta approval requirements before using a template.

Why this is useful in practice

Give repeat messages a consistent starting point.

01

Consistent customer communication

Your team starts from a reviewed message structure instead of improvising every response. That makes recurring updates easier to recognise and keeps the business purpose clear for the recipient.

02

Useful personalisation

Variables let one approved message carry the details that matter to each customer. Personalisation is most helpful when it reduces confusion, such as identifying the correct order or enquiry.

03

A foundation for automation

A well-prepared template can support campaigns and automated journeys. Build the message once, check its approval and reuse it where the customer's permission and the messaging rules allow.

A little clarity goes a long way

A little more about message templates.

Understand the setup, the costs and the next step before you decide.

01Who approves WhatsApp templates?

Meta controls template approval and categorisation. SAYLS provides the management workflow, but cannot guarantee an approval, a particular category or a fixed approval time for a message.

02Can I change customer details without making a new template?

Supported variables can hold customer-specific details within the approved message structure. Changes to the underlying wording or components may need a new submission or further review by Meta.

03Are Messenger templates the same thing?

No. SAYLS also has Messenger message tools, but those follow a different channel's rules and capabilities. Choose the workflow for the channel you are actually sending through.
