The useful short answer
Treat your SAYLS subscription and chargeable Meta messaging as separate budgets. Find the billing owner and correct messaging account before adding an authorised payment method through the official billing interface.
Paying for a SAYLS plan and paying for chargeable WhatsApp messages are different parts of your setup. SAYLS gives your team the CRM workspace, selected resources and included capabilities. Meta sets the WhatsApp platform's messaging prices and billing rules. Before sending a campaign, identify who bills for your WhatsApp usage and which business account owns that billing relationship. This prevents the common mistake of assuming that buying CRM access automatically funds all messaging.
A little preparation
Before you start
Have these ready so the next steps feel simpler.

What you'll leave with
- Clear subscription and usage budgets
- The correct billing relationship
- A modest payment-and-message test
STEP 1 OF 5
Separate your two budgets
Put the SAYLS subscription in one budget line and external usage in another. Your platform plan has a billing period and resource limits shown in the CRM catalog and checkout. Meta messaging, AI services and calling providers can have additional usage costs. If a quote bundles any of them, ask for the written scope instead of assuming every message is included.
Estimate usage from the work you actually plan to do: service enquiries, order updates, authentication or marketing. A price example in a guide can become outdated, so use the current Meta pricing page for the destination markets and message categories you expect to use. Keep a buffer for changes in volume.
STEP 2 OF 5
Identify the billing owner before entering card details
Sign in to Meta's business tools with an account authorised to manage billing, and select the business portfolio and WhatsApp assets connected to SAYLS. Look for the billing or payment configuration associated with those assets. Meta's labels and account structure can change; confirm the business and number instead of relying only on a menu name.
Some setups bill the business directly, while provider-managed arrangements can use a different payment relationship. If Meta does not show an option to add a card, first check your permissions and billing arrangement. Do not add a payment method to an unrelated advertising account expecting it to resolve every WhatsApp payment issue.
STEP 3 OF 5
Add a supported method through the official billing screen
Use the payment methods and verification steps offered in the current Meta billing interface. Enter accurate billing details and complete any check requested by Meta or your bank. Only add a method you are authorised to use. Your team should not share full card details, bank credentials or one-time bank codes with a CRM agent.
If a bank declines the method, contact the issuer and check restrictions on online or international transactions where relevant. An accepted card is not a promise that every future charge will succeed. Keep the method valid, review outstanding balances and make sure someone in the business receives billing notices.
STEP 4 OF 5
Check the charging model and test modestly
Meta's published platform pricing currently distinguishes delivered-message charges by market and category, with specified free-message cases. These rules can change. Review the current rate information rather than calculating from an old conversation-based price chart. Also check any applicable taxes, currency conversion and provider terms in your actual billing relationship.
After setup, send a small authorised test that matches the workflow you intend to use. Check message status and the billing tools available to you. Do not trigger a large campaign as a payment test. A message can fail for permission, template, recipient or policy reasons even when the payment method is valid.
STEP 5 OF 5
Troubleshoot with useful evidence
If SAYLS shows a payment or eligibility-related failure, note the error, connected number and approximate time. Check the relevant Meta account for outstanding balances or restrictions, and confirm that the template and recipient are suitable. Share redacted screenshots with support; never share card numbers, security codes or permanent access tokens.
Before renewing or upgrading SAYLS, read the platform checkout separately. An annual subscription discount applies to the plan terms shown there; it does not automatically discount Meta message rates. Keeping these costs distinct makes your campaign budget clearer and helps you compare a paid plan against the time it saves your team.
