The useful short answer
Connect the authorised store, choose one supported event and test the complete customer and staff journey. The useful result is clearer order context and follow-up—not a promise that an integration will eliminate returns.
Customers asking about an order should not have to repeat the same details to every person on your team. SAYLS includes a Shopify connector and store-automation capabilities that can bring supported store events into a WhatsApp workflow. Start with one useful job, such as an appropriate order update or a more organised support handover. A connection alone does not resolve delivery problems or guarantee fewer returns; the benefit comes from accurate data and a clear process.
A little preparation

Have these ready so the next steps feel simpler.

What you'll leave with
- An authorised store connection
- A tested event and message mapping
- A clearer order-support handover
STEP 1 OF 5
Confirm the store, access and plan
Use the Shopify store your business actually owns or is authorised to manage. Keep administrator access available for the authorisation flow. Check the current SAYLS pricing comparison for Shopify availability and store limits; not every subscription includes a store connection. The live catalog is the place to confirm the current entitlement.
Decide who owns the integration on each side. If an agency manages the store, agree who can authorise access and who will investigate a disconnected app. Avoid sharing passwords. Ask an authorised administrator to complete the official permission flow rather than copying store credentials into an ordinary chat.
STEP 2 OF 5
Authorise the SAYLS Shopify connector
Open the Shopify connection area available in your SAYLS workspace and follow its authorisation path. Review the store and requested access on the Shopify screen before approving. The audited connector checks the required scopes, binds an installation to a tenant and enforces the store limit. These protections are part of the connection process.
After authorisation, return to the workspace and inspect the result. SAYLS's connector registers required webhooks and queues a store sync. If the interface reports that webhooks could not be registered, address that error before relying on event-based communication. An authorisation success and a complete working automation are separate milestones.
STEP 3 OF 5
Choose one supported event and message
Review the store automation and template mapping options exposed by your setup. Choose a supported event that fits a clear customer need, and map only the values needed for that message. Verify order references, names and destinations with a small controlled test. Do not promise an event or field that your current connector screen does not offer.
Keep the message category and purpose accurate. A genuine service update and a promotional offer have different expectations. The Shopify connection does not replace customer messaging permission or Meta's template requirements. Do not turn every historic store customer into a marketing recipient simply because their phone number is available.
STEP 4 OF 5
Test the complete customer and staff journey
Use a test scenario appropriate for your store configuration, without risking a real customer's order. Confirm that the relevant event reaches the integration, the chosen message contains correct values and replies reach the intended inbox. Review the logs and connection tools available in SAYLS. If the import is queued, allow it to complete before drawing conclusions from an empty screen.
Have a staff member handle the reply as well. Can they identify the order? Do they know who resolves an address change or return question? Automation should help route the conversation, while the store team remains responsible for fulfilment, refunds and the commercial decision. SAYLS is not a replacement for your delivery operation or store policies.
STEP 5 OF 5
Maintain the connection and protect customer data
Review connection errors when store permissions, staff ownership or app configuration change. The audited connector includes a connection check and sync actions, but blindly repeating sync is not a repair for every error. Capture the relevant status and a redacted example when asking for help.
Use only the store data your workflow needs and restrict workspace access appropriately. Keep return rules, delivery estimates and escalation contacts current in saved replies or approved AI knowledge. Better information can reduce avoidable back-and-forth; it cannot guarantee a return rate, order recovery percentage or revenue result. Expand to another event only after the first workflow is reliable.
Bring the steps together
